PetroVR Facilities

The term facility in PetroVR refers to a building, piece of equipment, structure, stationary item functioning as a single integrated site and that serves a function in the routing of fluids through the system. They are specially designed to receive, process, consume and route fluids by means of connections and Pipelines. They may have specific capacity limits for handling different fluids, and eventually apply various policies when these capacities are exceeded (see Excess Policy Tab). Finally, they normally have both construction costs and fixed and variable expenses associated with operation.

Options to create a facility are available by right-clicking the Facilities branch in the Tree View and in a variety of other places in the interface (Edit Menu, Add Add buttons, etc.):

  • Load Facility from CatalogLoad Facility from Catalog: Import a predefined facility model from the facility catalog. (Catalog facilities can be subsequently edited.) See the Facilities Catalog section.
  • Generic facilityFacility: Create a generic facility, such as a separator, a production platform, a production template, etc.
  • Gas PlantGas Plant: Create a facility that can convert gas components into liquid components.
  • Gas Injection FacilityGas Injection Facility: Create a facility with the capacity to inject gas.
  • Water Injection FacilityWater Injection Facility: Create a facility with the capacity to inject water.
  • Gas Lift FacilityGas Lift Facility: Create a facility that supplies lift gas.

See Kinds of Facilities for further details on how each type works.

How do I define water and gas injection?

How can I define the impact of Gas Lift on well performance and facility throughput?

When a facility is defined, the corresponding Facility Construction job will appear in the Schedule; conversely, deleting one of them will remove the other from the project. Construction timing can be modified there.
